Data and Storytelling
Data is a powerful storytelling tool. I created this data story using Mapbox and FEMA data following Hurricane Harvey to support the story of Weatherlist, a hurricane prep tool.
Friendswood Texas is a small town where my research team centered our efforts after Hurricane Harvey. By focusing on data at a local level we can connect more emotionally with the effects of something as unfathomable as the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. The abstract becomes relatable.
